I saw that boy today
who I used to go to school with.
it took me a minute
and then I saw
that he was the same awkward boy
who was my partner in English class
that time
and thought the flowers
on my Amelia Bedelia hat were funny.

the same funny walk
just a little bit taller
a little bit stronger
and a little bit less
